Meet Ollie, our 2 + 2 Pop-top Camper

Meet Ollie, our orange pop-top campervan. Offering spacious accommodation for up to 4 people. The perfect dog-friendly campervan hire in Scotland!
 
With unique twin sliding doors and an inside/outside kitchen. Ollie feels light and airy.
 
The pop-top roof lifts to increase the head height and makes a generous double bed. The second double bed is created by lowering the bench seat.
 
With 4 belted travel seats, 2 double beds & plenty of storage, he is the perfect camper for couples or families.
 
Ollie’s conversion is based on a Ford Transit Custom. This means he is small and easy to drive on the narrow Scottish roads. But don’t worry – he is very spacious with plenty of room for 4 people to travel, sleep and dine! This makes him the perfect choice for families looking to hire a campervan for an adventure here in Scotland!

Just the bees knees. Everything from booking, questions, transport to/from the airport, flexibility when our flight got moved, teaching us how to use the van, accessibility help for my mom, laughing at my dads corny jokes, small treats for us, and so much more, was nothing but top notch. We were sad to drop the van off at the end of our amazing trip. Can't wait to return for our next trip!

Great experience with Highland Auto Campers Ltd. Really helpful communiction before hand and a thorough handover in how to use and look after the camper. Mark and Alicia are warm and welcoming, the vehicle was great and we had an amazing holiday. Would recommend 100% and will use again.

We hired Skye for 7 nights in September and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The arrangements through Alicia (and Mark) were easy including the booking and arranging a taxi from the airport. We had an extensive briefing when we picked up the van which meant we knew how everything worked on the van. The van is compact but contains everything you need, the beds/bedding are surprisingly comfortable and the size of the van means all of the roads on the NC500 are manageable including Applecross pass (just!). This was our first experience of using a campervan and it has certainly not put us off. I would highly recommend Highland Auto Campers and we would use them again without hesitation !

We rented 'Ruby' for 11 days. The online system is very clear, also the communcation with the owners. Mark and Alicia are so helpfull and friendly! Upon arrival we received a very detailed explanation about the camper. The camper is absolutely practical and comfortable equipped. It was so nice doing a roadtrip with Ruby. Thanks a lot, Alicia and Mark!

Mark & Alicia have hit the spot with a great small fleet of campers perfect for holidaying in the Highlands. End to end, they offer a thorough, friendly service. Ollie was clean, the ideal size for stress free driving - responsive capable engine & fuel efficient, easy to park and everything in there that you need (except your food, obvs), to camp wherever suits you. The van was reliable, solid and secure - and fun. Good battery life too. We had a great time, zipped out onto the Moray Firth to Culloden, through the Great Glen to Oban and back via Glen Coe and the Cairngorms, finishing with a lovely day in Inverness.

Me and my daughter had a great experience traveling around with Lewis (our campervan). Mark and Alicia were so nice, they explained everything so good that even we could understand. Lewis had a lot of power, we felt very save and everything worked as it should be. If we ever come back to Scotland again I would definitely book Highland Auto Campers again!!!!

Great Vans and fully equipped. Very friendly and helpful . They seem to answer questions very quickly and virtually any time of day or night ! We took out Harris for a week and completed the NC500 . No problems driving the Van even on steep single track roads. Having the reversing camera was very helpful:) Would recommend to anyone . Spot the Van in the middle photo

What to expect when you hire a campervan

How to book

Our live online booking system is always up to date. So you can check availability, prices or book your campervan hire at any time. Once you have booked, we will keep you updated with useful information to help you plan your holiday. We will also notify you of key dates in the run-up to your holiday.

Securing your camper

To secure your holiday we only need a 25% deposit. The balance will be payable 28 days before the start of your campervan adventure.
 
A £750 security deposit is payable 2 days before the start of your holiday. This will be refunded 7 days after the safe return of your campervan. Please see our Terms and conditions for full details.

Getting here

The start of your holiday couldn’t be easier. If you are driving here you can leave your car with us for the duration of your hire. Or for a relaxing start to your campervan holiday, why not fly or catch the train to Inverness? We can arrange transfers from either Inverness airport or the city centre. This means you will arrive relaxed and ready for your campervan adventure!

Full instruction provided

Upon arrival, we will carry out a full demonstration of your campervan (please allow at least 1 hour for this). This will mean you set off on your holiday confident in the use of all the campervan features. Each camper comes with a detailed user manual should you forget anything. We are also always on hand if you need us 24/7!

Campervan Hire Insurance

Insurance for additional drivers is available at no extra cost. Drivers will need to be aged 25-74 with a full, clean driving licence which has been held for at least 2 years.

Insurance for overseas drivers

We can also provide insurance for non-UK drivers from:

If your licence was issued in a country other than those listed, please contact us before making a booking.

Camper hire for drivers under 25 and over 74

It is also possible for us to offer insurance for drivers under the age of 25 and over the age of 74. This will be subject to a higher security deposit. Please check with us before booking.

Proof of address

We will need all drivers to provide proof of identity and address before your hire starts. Please ensure your driving licence is up to date if you have recently moved.

On and off grid camping

On grid camping

If you want to use the 3 pin 240v sockets within the camper then you'll need to book hook up on your campsites. Maybe you'll need to charge up cameras for all the amazing photo opportunities! This will also charge your leisure battery.

Off grid camping

Power onboard your campervan is by a leisure battery. This will keep the fridge, lighting, heating and USB sockets working. The battery is charged when driving, and via a solar panel - yes this even works in Scotland!
