Good To Go Scotland

Flexible Covid Booking Policy

We understand it is difficult to make plans at the moment, with the ever changing situation, so we continue to offer our flexible Covid booking policy.

If you book with us, and your trip is prevented from going ahead due to Government restrictions, we will offer a free transfer of your booking or a credit note to re-book with us within 12 months.

You can keep up to date with local restrictions in Scotland at the Gov.Scot website.

Changes to keep our customers & staff safe

We have made a few changes to the way we do things, and wanted to let you know about the ways in which we have adapted.

Firstly, we will be maintaining our already high vehicle preparation and cleaning standards, and have added extra disinfectant cleaning, with an approved anti-viral cleaning product, on all hard surfaces and touch points throughout your campervan. We will be following all the guidance given by the UK Government so that you can be assured that your camper will be safe for your holiday.

We are pleased to let you know we have been awarded the Visit Scotland “Good to Go” standard mark, which demonstrates we are following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines. We have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Portable Toilets & toilets Tents

We have always included the use of a free portable toilet with our campers, but this year will also be providing a toilet tent, which can be set up next to your camper whilst on campsites, to give a little privacy!

Campsites

Please check with campsites to confirm opening times, and facilities available.

All our campers are self-contained, in that they have a portable toilet with a separate toilet tent and on board 40 litre fresh and waste water tanks.

The Highlands will be very busy, so we recommend that you try to book ahead to secure campsite pitches. Here are some links to the best sites to do this:

Informal Camping

Again, as the Highlands will be so busy, it may be less easy to find informal camping spots. Please take a look at the below link regarding responsible informal camping in Scotland. Please be mindful of where you choose to stay and ensure you are respectful to the environment and local community, by leaving no trace of your overnight stay.

Please be aware that you will need to book into campsites several times during your holiday to empty your portaloo, and to empty and top up your waste and fresh water. Access to public toilets may be limited, and the use of cafes/pubs and restaurants may also be limited – so make sure you plan ahead!

Hampers

We normally provide a hamper for your holiday, with strawberries, milk, short bread and ice cream, but at this time have reviewed what it is possible to provide. Your camper will still have all of the cooking and dining equipment we normally provide. Items such as tea,  coffee and sugar can be provided if you wish. We will be giving you a voucher to treat yourselves at our Local Farm shop, Black Isle Berries, which is just 5 minutes away from our base. Here you can buy milk, fruit, vegetables, biscuits, bread, cheese, cake and ice cream – you can even pick your own berries! It will be a great way to start your holiday, and a way to support a local business with who we work closely.

If there are any changes before your holiday we will of course let you know, and you can always get in touch with any specific questions, but for now all we can say is we are looking forward to welcoming you to the Highlands!
